Notepad Is A Viable Marketing Tool

I am sure most people are aware of just what “notepad” is
on their computer. I use my “notepad” for many different things.

I create all of my written drafts in notepad and copy and paste it anywhere I am going to use it. I can edit it very easily in notepad  to get the final product I want.

I use it to make files for different marketing strategies, such as folders, for messages, signature files, emails that I have created, and so on and so on.

The Only problem I have with notepad is remembering that once I have started or finished a task in notepad, I need to save it before I walk away from the computer.

Working from home gives me many opportunities to step away from the computer from time to time during the day. Not thinking that I may not make it right back, I ususally just leave everything just like it is and expect it to be there when I get back.

I don’t know about you but there are many late nights I am writing a blog or creating a file, using notepad, and get up to stretch my legs, or whatever, and not make it back to the computer until morning.

Most people who work online for school or for business know by now that usually when Windows does an update it automatically restarts your computer. A lot of these updates are done at the wee hours of the morning.

I am really ashamed to say this but; there have been many times I have started a project in notepad and did not save it before I walked away. Windows has done their update and guess what; computer was shut down and project was lost. Sometimes it was quite a bit of work done too.

You would think after the first time I would have learned, huh. I have lost too many projects from just doing ; or shall I say Not doing this one small task.

I hope me posting about this will help someone else not to do the same thing I did and I am hoping with me writing about it, I will remember to save it before I walk away from now on out.

As many times as this has happened to me you would think I would have learned by now to save things every time I walk away from the computer. UUUUUHHHMMMMMMMM…No not me.

Please, Remember to hit “save” before you walk away. If you don’t it may not be there when you get back.

Great post Tammie. I know I have certainly had that happen to me too. Save and save often, no matter what you are working on, is what I try to do…still, now and then I still forget. We can all take comfort in this thought though, if we did not make mistakes, we would not be human.

Tammie, this is a fantastic article! First, you are right, notepad is an awesome tool when you are writing articles or saving information that you will use later. And like you, I have done the exact same thing tons of times so girl, you are not the lone ranger. Thank you for the valuable information regarding what a great tool notepad can be and for your transparency. That’s what I love about you most! Thank you!

    Hi there Tammie,
But would just like to add a comment also.
When using note pad or any other writing programme. Better to just start it then do a save as, for the first one call it what you like. Then only have to do a save after that as it will know what to save it as. Or just before you leave your comp do a ctrl+s then if it closes while you are away it will not matter. As you will have saved it already. hehe

Oh wow Tammie – been there have done that and yes you are right – you would think a person would learn – but I also have a gift shop out of my home and when a customer comes I jump up and go wait on the customer and have come back so many times and what I had going on is gone grrrrrrrrrr – one of these days I will learn to hit that save button also – thanks for the post.

Thank you Susie. I truly should have learned by now to save it. I do hope this helps others not to have that problem.

Oh wow, Tammie you have made me remember several times that have happen to me about not saving something I have been working on so long. Its a great reminder to us all to save in between periods of time , as you never know what may happen , lights go off for a split second, updates as you mention above. Also, some textads sites if you are on a period of time, they will log you out and you wont know it until its too late.

    great job,
