The Power of The Tongue Is Real

Sound like a foolish statement ?

Far from it!

This is so real it is scary.

Let’s look into it a bit. People believe what they hear
most of the time. If they don’t actually believe it at
first there is still always that seed that is planted with
the words that are spoken that are heard and are processed
by the brain into the memory whether it be conscious or
subconscious.

This one subject could turn into a book due to the many
areas it truly effects. The Holy Bible actually states
in Proverbs 18:20-21;20: A man’s belly shall be satisfied
with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his
lips shall he be filled. 21: Death and life are in the
power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the
fruit thereof.

So many times in all areas of this life I hear many people
speaking positively and negatively over their lives and when
you actually look at the outcome or the circumstances of
both, the positive is always the one that produces increase
and the negative produces failure.

Once you are told something and then you think on it and you
repeat it, you are putting your faith in what you have heard.
I once heard that I was the gatekeeper of my mind. I am the
one who controls what stays in my mind once it enters and what
leaves. If I think that I will not succeed in my endeavors in
my life then I promise you I will not. When I have one thought
come into my mind that says I cannot or will not and I stop the
thought right there and say yes I can or yes I will, then I stop
that negative and replace it with a positive and as a gatekeeper,
I have done my job.

If you get up in the morning and you say “I sure do not feel good’,
or ” I just know I am not going to have a good day”, nine times
out of ten you are going to feel really bad all day or you will
start having a very bad day and it will just keep on going bad
most of the day.

Now, if you get up and those thoughts enter your mind and you
decide that you are going to feel great or you are going to have
a wonderful day ten times out of ten you will do just that. I
have learned that no matter what my circumstances are it is my
decision as to how I am going to react to whatever comes my way.
I can react badly and let the negative win or I can decide to react
positively and turn the negative into a positive and “I” win.

This post really did not go where I wanted it to but I just feel
lead to post it anyway and write another one later. I do hope this
helps someone like it helped me when God put it into my soul. If it
was meant for you, accept it; if you feel like you know someone
who needs this, please share it with them. It is time the positve
rules the negative the way it was meant to from the beginning.

  2. Great post Tammie and you are so right here – it is the mind set and I also feel that if you surround yourself with positive thoughts that more positives will happen in your life. The one thing that people seem to forget is to count their blessings – no matter and keep moving forward.
My ex’s family for the 25 years that we were married were all negative – poor me attitude and it was so depressing being around them and really sad that they have missed out on so much happiness

Very nice post! I agree with you wholeheartedly. We do have the choice of how we choose to conduct our day, whether it is with a positive attitude – or negative. A valuable piece of info for those that do not realize this!

    Thank you Tammie,
That is a great post you have there. It is full of positive thinking which is the best thinking to have I think. I know in life we get what is called ups and downs. But it is all up to us really as we are told many time we have what is called freedom of choice.

But I sometimes wonder if that is really true.
Still that’s another story. Hehe. Great postr ty. Kevan…

    Hi Tammy,

What a wonderful post concerning the power of the tongue.I totally agree how powerful the tongue can be reflecting our daily lives each day. Its such a powerful weapon that it can affect those around us as well as ourselves. Gods word shows us the wisdom how to control our tongues in our lives. Thank you for bringing out these important points in our lives.

Nice article thank you. There is no doubt in my mind that you get back from the world what you put out to it. I like to experiment with this sometimes by going out of my way to make eye contact with people who pass me in the street, and smile at them. Once the initial shock passes, they can’t help but smile back – it is contagious!

Positive affirmations are a great way to start the day, but also a great way to end each one. Acknowledging your blessings is also a very powerful way to keep you life in perspective.
